Deaf, Hearing & Sign Language Center has met the needs of our clients for more than fifty years and we are excited about our next fifty! The move to our new office and the addition of community based programs services has made this a truly exciting time for the board and staff. Over the coming months new programs and service offerings will be introduced and I encourage each of you to come in and participate or help us to help others by volunteering in our Substance Abuse Prevention and Job Training Program.
Our goal is to kick off both of these programs on Monday, June 2. I would like to invite each of you to join us on Thursday, May 22 from 4 to 7 PM for our official opening. During this open house, guests will receive agency information and will have an opportunity to tour our new library, receive demonstrations on our Sorenson Video Relay equipment, and participate in many other exciting interactive activities.
I would like to thank the staff, board, funders and you…our clients for being patient while we transitioned from our former office in Northwest Detroit to our new home just outside of downtown. We are confident that this relocation will allow us to have an even greater impact on the lives of metropolitan Detroit’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities.
